The Reczko group at BSRC secured top global rankings in the international BioASQ 2026 competition.
The team achieved outstanding results in the BioASQ 2026 international competition, where biomedical experts pose questions for biomedical issues that should be answered within 24 hours by AI systems. Most notably, in the competition’s most critical category—document retrieval for Task 14b—the Reczko group won three out of four 1st-place awards, establishing them as the top team worldwide in this domain. The group also secured additional four 1st and three 2nd places using their novel hybrid retrieval framework, q-MAP.
The results of the challenge were announced at the BioASQ workshop held in Jena, Germany, on 22 September 2026.
