Biomedical Research and Digital Innovation taking a joint step forward

BSRC "Alexander Fleming" and Pfizer’s Center for Digital Innovation joined forces on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, for "Innovation Day"—an event dedicated to exchanging knowledge and bridging the gap between biomedical research and technology.

During the event, executives and researchers from both organizations presented their work, research activities, and innovative initiatives in the fields of biomedical research, digital technology, and artificial intelligence, highlighting the possibilities created when scientific excellence meets technological innovation.

Bridging the gap between the lab and the future!

BSRC Fleming’s researchers demonstrated how complementary fields of biomedical science come together when powered by AI, digital tools, and data.

A prominent feature of the program was the presentation of the research and innovative work of BSRC Alexander Fleming. Drs. Antigone Dimas, Eleni Douni, Dimitris Kontoyiannis, Argyris Politis, Katerina Papanikolopoulou, Martina Samiotaki, Marietta Armaka, Maria Fousteri, and Georgios Skretas presented representative aspects of the research conducted at the Center, highlighting the breadth of its scientific activity and its potential to connect basic biomedical research with advanced technologies and innovative applications.

Strategic Growth & Innovation

For BSRC "Alexander Fleming," initiatives like "Innovation Day" are central to our long-term strategy. We are fully committed to fostering interdisciplinarity, boosting innovation, and bridging the gap between world-class research excellence, technological development, and industry partners.

“Innovation Day” has been supported by Boost4Bio project (funded by “Widening Participation & Spreading Excellence” – Horizon Europe) and by TETRIS – Technology Transfer and Research Innovation Synergy (Programme COMPETIΤΙVENESS, NSRF 2021-2027) with the collaboration of “Technology Transfer & Strategic Planning Office” of BSRC Fleming.
