The Reczko group was awarded 2nd place in the BioASQ Synergy, 2023 international competition. Within the competition, biomedical experts posed unanswered questions for developing biomedical & public health issues that should be answered within 24 hours by intelligent information systems. In four rounds, the experts assessed the answers and gave feedback to the systems together with updated questions.
The Reczko group excelled (2nd place award) in the category "exact answers", with the Large Language Model called ELECTROLBERT developed in the lab.
The results of the challenge were announced at the BioASQ workshop held in Thessaloniki on 19 & 20/9/2023. Computations were supported by the cloud infrastructure Hypatia offered by the Greek ELIXIR node.
