Tarbase was created and is maintained in Greece in a collaboration between FLEMING, Athena Research Center, University of Thessaly, National Technical University of Athens and GRNET, led by Prof. Artemis Hatzigeorgiou. It is the now the only resource used by Ensembl for the annotation of miRNA targets.
