Research Assistant/Pre-doctoral Researcher

The laboratory of Dr Vasso Kostourou at BSRC Al. Fleming is seeking to employ a highly motivated Research Assistant/Pre-doctoral Researcher to study the role of Talin, a key regulator of cell adhesion, in tumour angiogenesis. The project is funded by the Association for International Cancer Research (AICR).

Applicants should hold a degree and/or Master degree in biomedical sciences or any related disciplines and have at least 6 months laboratory experience in cell and molecular biology techniques. Any experience in mouse genetics and fluorescent microscopy will be an asset.

Post-doctoral Researcher

The laboratory of Dr Vasso Kostourou at BSRC Al. Fleming is seeking to employ a highly motivated post-doctoral scientist, interested in pursuing top-level research. The successful canditate will work on elucidating the function of Talin, a key regulator of cell adhesion in blood vessel formation and function during vascular homeostasis and pathological angiogenesis, using mouse models. The project is funded by the Association for International Cancer Research (AICR).

Applicants should hold a PhD in Life Sciences or related disciplines and have excellent communication skills in spoken and written English. Expertise in cell biology, biochemical, molecular biology, immunohistochemical and imaging techniques (e.g. confocal) is required. Experience with mouse cancer models is an advantage. Applicants are expected to work efficiently as part of a team and independently.

Research Assistant

A position for a research assistant is immediately available in the lab of Dr. Vasso Kostourou at BSRC Fleming.

Candidates must hold a degree in biological sciences and MSc or PhD in Biomedical Sciences or related disciplines. Previous experience with small animal research, and imaging techniques will be considered an asset.

The project is funded by the GSRT SYNERGASIA project Nonastru (11SYN-2-718) and co-financed by the European Union and Greece Operational Program "Competitiveness and Enterpreneurship", European Regional Development Fund, NSFR 2007-2013.
