The whole process consists of gene targeting in embryonic stem (ES) cells, using a targeting construct. Targeted ES cells are then injected into blastocysts to produce chimeras. Breeding of chimeras result in the detection of germline transmitting chimeras and the generation of the mutated founder line.
The entire gene targeting process consists of two major steps. Each of these steps can be ordered as a separate service from our facility:
- Gene Targeting
- Positive ES clones expansion and blastocyst injections
