Overview

Our group’s main focus is the genomic architecture of complex traits in humans. We are interested in exploring how genetic variation influences intermediate and higher-level phenotypes, including risk for disease. We employ a combination of experimental and computational approaches, including high-throughput functional assays (such as RNA-Seq, ATAC-Seq, exome sequencing) and assays in cell culture. We are extending our work to encompass other types of functional variation, including variation in the metabolome, the epigenome and in the microbiome, to describe complex molecular and functional signatures across multiple biological levels, and to provide a more comprehensive view of biological systems.
