Laboratories in the Division of Molecular Biology & Genetics are using a full spectrum of molecular, biochemical, cellular, imaging and genomics approaches to understand fundamental aspects of life such as gene transcription, genome stability, developmental pathways and metabolic or disease-related processes. The main focus is on studies of the epigenetic mechanisms operating in the above biological settings. These research efforts include analysis of cancer and other disease-related alterations of chromatin-templated processes, DNA damage response pathways and the functions of non-coding RNAs. Other activities involve the analysis of complex genetic traits of specific diseases.
