BioArt

For those who do not know, it all started in 2004. One day, all of a sudden, another dimension of the images produced in the lab was revealed to us. They were not just successful, important or failed experiments anymore, they were also beautiful pictures that could attract anybody, scientist or not.

Since that day BioArt was born. Gradually many of our collegues were inspired by the BioArt initiative and have created works that now can be seen in our site. Competitions took place and all people that came to our Christmas parties have voted for the best works. Some of the most popular works are now decorating our coffee room.

Coming back after a short incubation time of 2 years, we will open up this initiative also to participants from other scientific institutes. This year we will also encourage artistic approaches other than electronically manipulated photos, using any kind of material related to the scientific environment.

Thus we invite all interested parts to help us expand the BioArt initiative and our scientific art (or artistic science) collection.

Just a touch of imagination and creativity, and you are ready to submit your participation to BioArt .

Be productive in your work and keep BioArt in mind.

Yours
BioArt

BioArt is organized by Niki Karagianni and Christina Eftychi with the support of G.Kollias
