Recent Achievements

Markers of the Center’s successful development include:
•  A large number (225) of publications (1999-2010) in peer-reviewed journals (average Impact Factor 7.4)
•  4 active patent applications in translational research
• 121 competitive research grants from national, European and international sources (EU, HFSP, NIH and others) amounting to 32M€ (i.e. 250.000€ per researcher per year)
•  Three members of staff elected to the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO)
•  Coordination of 5 EC projects including the FP6 MUGEN Network of Excellence
•  Key participation in the large-scale European Research Infrastructure project INFRAFRONTIER and full membership to the European Mouse Mutant Archive (EMMA) since 2009.
•  A strong record in training students (participation in 8 EC training networks)
• Biomedcode a Fleming spin-off company , involved in preclinical drug evaluation in animal models of human disease.
